Morris Plains cuts: 62 roles gone. Anyone else hearing rumors?

Just saw the WARN notice for the Morris Plains site—62 people out effective mid-March. It feels like every time I open my email lately, there’s another announcement about 'optimizing our workforce.' It’s getting exhausting to work with the constant cloud of anxiety hanging over the department. Does anyone know if this is limited to specific business units or is this part of the broader Q1 reduction? I’ve heard whispers that other hubs might be next on the chopping block. If you’re in the NJ office, how are things looking on your floor? Are they doing immediate badge deactivations again, or are people getting notice? It’s hard to stay focused on deliverables when you’re wondering if you’ll be next on the spreadsheet.

It is honestly relentless at this point. I work at one of the other regional hubs and the morale is in the gutter. We keep hearing that these aren't just isolated incidents but part of a wider push for 'efficiency' that Cigna seems to be executing in waves throughout the first quarter. Nobody feels safe, and the leadership silence is only making the rumors worse. Keep your resume polished and start networking now, because at this company, it feels like only a matter of time before the next round of notifications hits a different department.

That’s brutal. I am sorry to hear about the Morris Plains site. At this stage, I would stop waiting for official word from the top because they never give us the full picture until it's already happened. If you are seeing these patterns across the board, you have to assume that no business unit is truly insulated. Take care of yourself, prioritize your mental health, and do what you need to do to land somewhere more stable. Cigna’s culture has shifted so much that loyalty doesn’t seem to be part of the equation anymore.
