I've noticed something similar. The 'optimization' talk always feels like a precursor to something unpleasant, doesn't it? My department is swamped too, and it feels like they expect us to just absorb more without any additional support. It's creating a lot of stress. Plus, the hushed tones and avoidance of certain topics are definitely creating a weird atmosphere. Makes you wonder what's really going on behind the scenes.
Yep, the pressure is definitely on. Seems like the company is pushing for more output with less input, which is a classic playbook. It's tough when you see your team struggling to keep up and you can't offer them the resources they need. The uncertainty and the feeling that you have to watch what you say is draining. Hopefully, it's just a temporary phase and not the new norm.
