Cintas: Feeling like the 'efficiency' talk is reaching a fever pitch

Lately, it feels like 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' are the only words our leadership team uses. Every meeting, every email seems to have this underlying tone of 'we need to do things better/faster/cheaper.' My manager is constantly asking about how we can cut time on tasks and reduce resource usage. It's not necessarily bad in isolation, but the sheer volume and intensity of it all is making me a bit uneasy. It feels like a preamble to something, you know? Anyone else picking up on this concentrated focus on operational efficiency?
