I've been through a few of these 'realignments' during my time here, and the pattern is always the same. When management starts talking about 'optimizing territory assets,' you can bet your bottom dollar that layoffs are coming down the pipeline. If your manager is dodging direct questions about the Q4 budget, that’s your signal to tighten up your finances and start updating your resume. Don't let them catch you off guard when the restructuring notice finally hits your inbox next month.
Honestly, the constant pivots toward cost-cutting are exhausting, but it feels like business as usual lately. Every few years, leadership puts on this theater about efficiency while the route structures get chopped up behind the scenes. Just keep your head down and focus on your accounts; stressing about the office rumors won't change the corporate strategy anyway. If it happens, it happens, but plenty of us have seen these cycles come and go without the sky falling. Keep working your route.
