Citi - Seeing a lot of 'synergies' talk lately, anyone else?

Been hearing a lot of buzzwords like 'synergies' and 'optimization' in internal meetings lately. It feels like a precursor to something. Project roadmaps are getting... fluid. Some things are being pushed back indefinitely, while others seem to be getting fast-tracked with fewer resources. My team's been told to 'do more with less' for the past quarter, and it's starting to feel like a permanent state rather than a temporary measure. Anyone else experiencing this? Is this just normal business cycle stuff or am I reading too much into it? Just trying to get a sense of the general mood out there.

Totally feel this. The 'synergies' talk always seems to precede some kind of restructuring or layoffs. It's like they use these buzzwords to soften the blow or make it sound strategic. My department is definitely feeling the squeeze, and the shifting priorities are making planning a nightmare. Hoping it's not as bad as it feels, but the vibes are definitely off.

Yeah, 'synergies' and 'optimization' are definitely the buzzwords of the season. It's creating a lot of uncertainty around here. People are wondering what it actually means for their roles and projects. We're being asked to be more efficient, but the support and resources aren't really increasing, so it feels like a contradiction. Let's hope for some clarity soon.
