Feeling the pressure to "innovate" with fewer resources

It’s getting increasingly difficult to meet targets lately. We're being pushed hard to come up with "innovative solutions" and "drive growth," but at the same time, budgets feel tighter than ever, and there's a noticeable slowdown in hiring for critical roles. We've lost a few people recently and their work hasn't been redistributed effectively, leading to burnout. It feels like we're expected to do more with less, and the pressure to constantly demonstrate value is immense. Anyone else experiencing this disconnect between expectations and reality? Makes you wonder if this is a precursor to something, or just the new normal.

I hear you. It's the same song and dance everywhere, but especially felt in the big banks right now. Seems like the focus is on flashy tech initiatives and cost-cutting, while the actual day-to-day work gets squeezed. Management talks about agility but the reality is more bureaucracy and fewer people. Hang in there, hopefully, things will balance out eventually, but don't hold your breath. Keep doing your best with what you have.
