Mandatory 'collaboration' days increasing, WFH feeling squeezed?

0x52c1…6a4fBeen hearing a lot about the importance of in-office collaboration, and my department is pushing for more mandatory days in the office. We've gone from maybe one day a week to three. While I get the concept of team bonding and whatnot, it feels like a precursor to something else. Especially when combined with the general budget tightening we've been discussing. Is this push to get people back in the door a sign that they're assessing who's 'committed' or trying to justify space? Or am I just paranoid because of the general economic climate and all the chatter elsewhere? Anyone else experiencing this uptick in mandated office time and feeling a bit uneasy about it?
