Seriously, I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. They announced 1100 layoffs, and then I'm seeing reports that the engineering team actually *grew* by like 45%? How is that even possible? Did they just shuffle people around internally, or are they hiring aggressively in specific areas while cutting others to the bone? It makes the whole 'efficiency' and 'productivity' narrative feel really hollow. If they were so much more productive, why the massive cuts? And if they needed to hire more engineers, why get rid of a thousand people in the first place? Feels like we're not getting the full picture here. Anyone else feel like they're missing a key piece of this puzzle? It's definitely adding to the general anxiety around here.
