Anyone else hit the job market today?

Well, 7/17 was definitely not the Wednesday I expected. Spent the morning dealing with the severance package and updating my LinkedIn. It’s wild how quickly the access gets cut off. I’m honestly just venting because the whole experience felt so detached. No meeting with my direct manager, just a generic invite and a blocked email within ten minutes. I know it’s the nature of the industry, but after putting in so much overtime to hit our project goals, it just hurts. I’m curious if anyone else from the impacted departments is getting any traction with recruiters yet? The market feels pretty cold right now, and I’m worried that having a 'layoff' stamp on the resume during a major sector contraction isn't going to help. Trying to keep my head up, but it’s tough when you see the company talk about growth while showing thousands of us the door. Stay strong out there, everyone.

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Dealing with a sudden lockout after pouring your energy into projects is incredibly demoralizing. Cloudflare has a reputation for high-intensity work, and being treated like a line item rather than a person after hitting those goals is a bitter pill to swallow. Take a few days to decompress before you even think about networking or resumes. Your worth isn't defined by how quickly they revoked your access, and you’ll find something that appreciates your contributions far more than they did.

That transition is brutal. Being cut off without a real conversation is a classic move in tech, but it doesn't make it any less cold. It sounds like you were grinding hard for them, only to be discarded in a standard corporate shuffle. Don't let the lack of closure mess with your head; their management style reflects on them, not on your talent or your output. Update your portfolio, lean on your network, and get out of there as fast as you can. Better things are waiting elsewhere.
