Feeling blindsided by the 'efficiency gains' narrative

I'm still processing the news from July 17th. Reading the justifications, especially the parts about how certain roles are becoming 'obsolete' due to advancements, feels incredibly disheartening. I've been with Cloudflare for years, pouring a lot of effort into my role. To see it framed as something that can just be replaced by smarter systems, and then to be on the receiving end of the cuts because of it... it's a tough pill to swallow. It feels like the human element and dedication are being undervalued in favor of pure metric-driven 'efficiency'. Was this sentiment widespread across teams, or were certain departments hit harder by this 'efficiency drive'? It's hard not to feel like my contributions, and those of many others, are being dismissed. Just looking to connect with others who might be feeling this way.
