Post-layoff vibe check: Is anyone else feeling like the remaining teams are overloaded?

It's been a little while since the big layoff, and honestly, I'm starting to feel the strain on my team. We lost a few key people, and while management keeps talking about how 'streamlined' and 'efficient' we're all supposed to be now, the workload hasn't magically decreased. If anything, it feels like we're all picking up the slack for multiple people. Are other teams experiencing this? It makes me wonder if this was truly about 'efficiency' or if they just wanted to cut costs and didn't fully consider the impact on the people left behind. The talk about certain roles becoming 'obsolete' is also pretty demoralizing, regardless of the tech behind it. Just curious to hear if anyone else is feeling the pressure mount.

Yeah, I'm seeing a similar pattern here. The expectation is that we can absorb the work of those who left without missing a beat, which is just not realistic. It feels like the emphasis is solely on output, and the human element – the potential for burnout, the need for proper onboarding for new responsibilities – is being completely ignored. It's a tough environment to navigate when you're constantly feeling stretched thin.

Definitely feeling the overload. It's like they expect a magic wand to fix the workload gap. The 'streamlined' narrative doesn't match the reality of increased pressure and longer hours. Trying to maintain quality while juggling more responsibilities than ever is exhausting. It’s hard not to question the long-term sustainability of this setup when morale seems to be taking a hit alongside productivity.
