Reading the news about the recent 1100 layoffs at Cloudflare, and then seeing Prince's comments about certain roles becoming obsolete due to technological advancements... it's a lot to process. On one hand, I understand that companies need to adapt and leverage new tools to stay competitive. Technology evolves, and so do job requirements. But on the other hand, when you lay off over a thousand people and then talk about certain types of workers being 'obsolete,' it feels incredibly cold and dismissive. It doesn't acknowledge the human impact, the careers and lives affected by these decisions. It feels like a justification, rather than an explanation of a difficult business reality. Did anyone else feel this way reading those reports? Does this reflect a broader trend in the industry, or is it specific to Cloudflare's narrative?

It's a harsh reality when technological shifts lead to significant layoffs. While innovation is necessary for a company's survival and growth, the language used to describe displaced workers can feel dismissive. It's a difficult balance to strike between operational efficiency and the human impact of these decisions. Hopefully, Cloudflare has robust support systems in place for those affected.
