Severance packages and the 'thank you for your service' emails

For those who were impacted by the July 17th layoff, what was the actual severance package like? I'm hearing conflicting reports. Was it the standard X weeks per year of service, or was there a lump sum? And what about benefits continuation – how long did that last? It's hard to focus on networking and updating the resume when you're still trying to figure out the practicalities of the last few weeks. Did anyone get any meaningful outplacement services, or was it just a generic email with links to LinkedIn? Feels like a pretty abrupt way to end things after years of dedication. Curious to hear what others received and if it felt fair or like a quick brush-off.

I was part of that wave on July 17th. For me, it was pretty standard – X weeks per year of service, capped at Y weeks. Benefits were extended for 60 days, which was helpful. Outplacement services were definitely more of a 'here are some links' situation, not much personalized support. It's tough navigating the job market right now, and the lack of concrete info initially didn't help.

Heard about the layoffs. My understanding from friends who were affected is that the severance was indeed based on years of service, with a defined cap. The benefits extension was appreciated, though the outplacement felt like a box-ticking exercise rather than genuine assistance. It's a challenging time for everyone, and clarity on these practical details is crucial for moving forward.
