The 'efficiency' excuse feels so hollow after the 1100 layoffs

Reading all this about "efficiency" and "making the company more productive" after 1100 people were let go feels incredibly disingenuous. Were those 1100 people just not efficient? Were they roadblocks to progress? It's a tough pill to swallow when you're still here, picking up the pieces, and trying to maintain the same level of output, if not more. The messaging feels like a slap in the face to everyone who remained. It's creating a lot of anxiety and distrust. Feels like we're expected to just accept this narrative without question. Anyone else feel like the company isn't being straight with us about the real reasons behind these massive cuts?
