I've been at CME for a while and while there are always cyclical pressures, these kinds of rumors can sometimes just be noise amplified by market downturns. Focus on your own performance and team goals; often, the top leadership navigates these things in ways that aren't immediately apparent to everyone on the ground. Keep your resume updated regardless, as that's always good practice.
I can confirm things feel a bit tense lately. Performance reviews seem to be under a microscope, and there's definitely a different energy in team meetings. It’s hard to say if it’s widespread layoffs or just belt-tightening and performance management, but the 'pressure' you're feeling is real. Management's communication hasn't been the clearest on the specifics, leaving a lot of room for speculation.
