CME Group - Performance reviews and career path uncertainty?

Just finished my performance review and honestly, it felt a bit... strange. The feedback was decent, but there was a lot of emphasis on 'efficiency' and 'streamlining processes' without much clarity on how that translates to individual growth or future roles. I've been trying to map out my next steps here, but it feels like the goalposts are constantly moving. It's hard to plan when you're not sure what the company's priorities are long-term, or how individual contributions are truly valued beyond the immediate quarterly goals. Is anyone else feeling this ambiguity regarding career development and future opportunities at CME? It's making it tough to stay motivated when the path forward feels so unclear, and frankly, a little concerning given the current market. Any thoughts or similar experiences would be appreciated.

I hear you on the performance review confusion. My experience has been similar – a lot of talk about process improvements, but it's vague on what that means for my actual development. It's tough to feel motivated when you're putting in the work but the path forward isn't clear. Makes you wonder if they're just trying to get more out of us without a real investment in our careers.

That 'moving goalposts' feeling is spot on. I've been trying to understand the long-term vision and where I fit in, but the messaging feels inconsistent. It's frustrating to see the focus shift so rapidly without a clear strategy that connects individual effort to company-wide objectives. Makes planning your next move incredibly difficult.
