Hearing about the latest 700 layoffs at Coinbase hits hard. I was part of a previous round, and it's tough to see it keep happening. From my experience, there was always this underlying tension between rapid growth ambitions and the reality of the market. Leadership talked a big game about innovation and the future of crypto, but the operational side often felt like it was scrambling to keep up. These layoffs, while framed by some as efficiency measures or market corrections, really impact the people who dedicated their time and energy. It's more than just numbers; it's careers and livelihoods. I can only imagine the uncertainty for those still employed. Are the remaining teams stretched thin? Is morale completely shot? It's a shame to see a company that once seemed so promising go through this.
