Just got my notice this morning. After two years of grinding through the crypto winter, putting in 60-hour weeks, and dealing with the constant pivot to whatever the current 'focus' is, this is how it ends? An automated email and a calendar invite for a 5-minute Zoom call. The severance package is barely enough to cover rent in a major city for two months, let alone handle health insurance during a market downturn like this. I’ve been reading the internal comms and the 'mission' talk feels so hollow now. We were told we were building the future of finance, but apparently, the future doesn't include the people who actually built the infrastructure. It’s clear the leadership just wanted to trim the burn rate before the next quarter’s filing. My lead had no idea this was coming until 8:00 AM. If you’re still there, look out for yourself. Don't trust the 'we're one big family' messaging. Update your resume tonight, reach out to your network, and prepare for the worst. I’m just trying to process the fact that my access is already gone. Does anyone know if the RSU vesting schedule gets any kind of acceleration, or are we just totally hosed on those too?

Take a breather, update your portfolio, and don't take it personally—the tech industry treats human capital as a disposable expense. That is absolutely brutal. Being reduced to an automated email after grinding through the worst of the crypto winter is a new low, even for this industry. It is clear that the culture at Coinbase is purely transactional. When management keeps pushing that 'mission' narrative while tossing dedicated employees aside, it’s just gaslighting. Focus on your own mental health right now and don't look back; there are plenty of companies out there that actually value their talent beyond the current bull market cycle.
