Colgate-Palmolive: My team's workload is insane - is this just me?

Seriously, is anyone else on the Colgate team feeling completely swamped lately? My team's workload has gone through the roof in the last couple of months, and it feels like we're constantly putting out fires instead of doing any actual strategic work. We've lost a couple of people over the summer, and management hasn't seemed eager to backfill those roles, claiming we need to 'do more with less.' It's gotten to the point where people are burning out, and I'm starting to worry about the quality of our output. Is this a company-wide thing, or is my specific department just dealing with a bad situation? I'm wondering if this is a precursor to something bigger, or if it's just the usual end-of-year crunch mixed with understaffing. Anyone else in a similar boat?

It sounds like you're describing a pretty common corporate situation, unfortunately. The 'do more with less' mantra often translates to unsustainable workloads and burnout. It's tough when departures aren't adequately addressed, leaving existing team members to pick up the slack. Prioritizing what's truly essential and finding ways to streamline processes, even small ones, might offer some temporary relief. Documenting the impact of understaffing on project timelines and employee well-being could also be crucial if you're considering raising concerns further.
