COP - Anyone else feel like the internal mood has shifted?

Been with COP for a few years now, and while things have been pretty stable overall, I've noticed a subtle shift in the internal atmosphere lately. It's hard to put my finger on it precisely, but there's a bit more caution, maybe a touch more anxiety than usual. Project scopes seem to be getting tighter reviews, and there's a definite emphasis on efficiency and cost-saving. It's not panic mode by any stretch, but the 'business as usual' vibe feels a little less pronounced. Just wanted to see if I'm alone in this perception or if others are feeling a similar change. Any insights on what might be driving this, or is this just standard industry fluctuations I should get used to?

I've definitely picked up on something similar. It feels like the company is hunkering down a bit, perhaps anticipating some economic headwinds or just a general tightening of the belt across the industry. The increased focus on efficiency makes sense in that context. While it's not a crisis, that 'all-clear' feeling from a year or two ago seems to have faded. It's more about careful execution and demonstrating value on every front now.

Interesting you bring this up. My sense is that it's less about anxiety and more about a strategic recalibration. The energy landscape is constantly shifting, and it's natural for a company like ours to adapt. The emphasis on efficiency and tighter reviews could simply be a response to market dynamics and a desire to remain competitive. It’s probably a good sign, actually, that leadership is being proactive rather than reactive.
