COP - Anyone else hearing whispers about hiring freezes?

Hey all, Been working at COP for a few years now, and lately, the vibe feels... off. We've had a few projects get pushed back, and I've noticed some positions that were open for a while are still lingering with no apparent movement. It's not just my team either, I've heard similar things from folks in other departments. No official word, of course, but the silence is pretty deafening. Is anyone else picking up on this? Seeing fewer internal job postings, or maybe some roles that were expected to be filled just... aren't? I'm starting to get a bit antsy about where things are headed, especially with the general market volatility. Trying to stay positive, but the lack of concrete information is making it hard. Would appreciate any insights or similar observations from others in the COP universe. Stay safe out there.

I've been keeping an eye on COP as well, and the chatter about hiring slowdowns isn't surprising given the current market conditions. Energy companies often adjust staffing based on commodity prices and future investment plans. It's a cyclical industry, so shifts like this are common. Hopefully, it's a temporary measure to ensure stability.

That's interesting to hear about the potential hiring freeze at ConocoPhillips. While I don't have direct inside information, I've seen similar patterns in other major oil and gas players when there's uncertainty in the sector. Companies tend to become more cautious with new hires during such periods, focusing on existing projects and core operations.
