Constellation Brands: Performance review season and the elephant in the room

Alright, it's that time of year again – performance reviews at Constellation Brands. Usually, it's just the standard back-and-forth, setting goals, etc. But this year feels...different. The pressure to 'exceed expectations' seems amplified, and there's a lot of talk about 'streamlining' and 'efficiency gains' in our recent all-hands. My manager even alluded to needing to 'make tough decisions' regarding resource allocation in our 1:1 last week. It feels like they're setting the stage for something, and I'm worried it's not just about better performance. Has anyone else felt this heightened scrutiny or heard similar coded language during their review prep? Curious if others are prepping for potential cuts or if it's just my anxiety acting up.

Definitely sensing a shift in the air here too. The 'streamlining' buzzwords are getting louder, and the pressure to hit those 'exceed' targets feels a lot more intense than usual. Hoping it just means better processes and not a massive overhaul, but that talk of 'tough decisions' is definitely making me a bit uneasy about job security. Fingers crossed it's all just standard end-of-year budget talk and not something more serious.

I hear you. Performance reviews are always a bit of a performance in themselves, aren't they? But this year, the language feels unusually sharp. 'Efficiency gains' and 'resource allocation' are definitely code for something, and it's hard not to wonder what that 'something' might be. Let's hope it translates into positive changes and not just more work piled onto fewer people. Time will tell, I suppose.
