Pittsburg site cutbacks: just the beginning?

Saw the recent WARN filing for the Loveridge Road facility. It’s only two people this time, but let’s be real—it’s never just about the headcount listed on the public notice. They love to bleed us dry in small batches so they don't trigger the larger reporting requirements. Leadership keeps talking about 'operational synergy' and 'optimizing the footprint,' but those of us on the floor know that’s just code for 'do more with less until you burn out.' Anyone else at the Pittsburg plant hearing rumors about deeper cuts coming in Q1? I’m trying to figure out if I should start polishing the resume now or wait until the next town hall where they inevitably dodge all the hard questions. The mood around the site has been absolutely toxic lately.

The 'operational synergy' buzzwords are getting old, aren't they? I’ve seen this playbook a dozen times before. They start with a few small headcount reductions to avoid the public scrutiny that comes with a massive layoff announcement, but everyone knows the writing is on the wall. It’s a slow-motion exit strategy. If they’re already pulling these strings at the Loveridge Road site, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of us feel the squeeze. Start updating your resumes now, because loyalty doesn’t mean anything to them.

Honestly, I’m not surprised. This is classic corporate cost-cutting logic. They think they can squeeze every last bit of productivity out of the remaining staff without anyone noticing the cracks in the foundation. It’s exhausting watching them pretend everything is fine while morale hits rock bottom. I’ve been hearing similar grumblings from colleagues in other departments, so it’s clearly a company-wide initiative. Don't let them convince you that your extra workload is temporary—it’s the new normal until they decide to gut the site completely.
