This "efficiency" talk always makes me nervous. It feels like a prelude to a restructuring or some sort of headcount review. Hoping it's just standard corporate jargon, but the emphasis on doing more with less is definitely a red flag. Keep an eye on those metrics and your contributions. It's probably wise to document your achievements clearly.
I've seen this pattern before. When the focus shifts so heavily to 'optimization' and 'efficiency' outside of normal performance discussions, it often signals a period of significant change. Whether that's targeted reductions or just a push for increased productivity from existing staff remains to be seen, but it's certainly a mood shift internally.
