Anyone else feel the pressure picking up at Costco?

Is it just me, or has the general pace and expectation at Costco ramped up significantly over the last year or so? I'm not talking about the usual holiday rush, this feels different. Like the bar is being set higher for individual productivity, even in roles that were previously more team-oriented. I'm in receiving and it feels like we're constantly being pushed to unload faster, put away quicker, and manage inventory with less margin for error. It's not necessarily a bad thing to be efficient, but it feels like the emphasis has shifted from 'doing a good job' to 'doing an impossibly fast job.' Are other departments or warehouses experiencing this? Is this a company-wide push for efficiency, or just the new normal? Kind of makes you wonder if there's an underlying reason for the increased pressure, even if there haven't been any official layoff announcements. Just feeling the strain and wanted to see if anyone else is on the same boat.

Yeah, I've noticed a definite shift. It feels like they're really trying to optimize every second of workflow. For us in the front end, it's like the checkout speed metrics are tighter, and there's more emphasis on bagging efficiency. Even the stockers seem to be moving at a different pace. It's a bit of a pressure cooker, for sure, but I guess they're aiming for peak performance across the board. Trying to adapt to it, but it's a challenge.
