Just gotta vent...this place is getting to me!

I've been with Costco for 5 years now, in the membership department. Honestly, I used to love it. Good benefits, decent pay, and generally nice coworkers. But lately, it's been brutal. Management is breathing down everyone's necks about credit card sign-ups, and the customers are just getting ruder and more entitled. I'm constantly dealing with angry people complaining about expired coupons or wanting to return half-eaten food. I'm starting to dread coming in every day. The pressure is relentless, and I feel like I'm constantly walking on eggshells. The worst part is knowing that if I complain, they'll just replace me with someone else willing to put up with it. Just needed to get that off my chest. Is anyone else feeling this way?

I hear you. The credit card push is insane. I worked at [another big box store] for a few years, and it was the same thing. They promise bonuses for hitting quotas, but the stress isn't worth the extra few bucks. Start documenting everything - every unreasonable request, every management interaction. It might not help immediately, but if things escalate, you'll have a record.

Expired coupons and half-eaten food? Seriously? I've been a Costco member for years, and I've always found the employees to be pretty great, even when dealing with *my* occasional return (oops!). Maybe it's just a rough patch? Hopefully things will cool down after the holidays. If not, maybe explore transferring to a different department or warehouse. A change of scenery might help.
