Coterra Energy - Any whispers about potential RIFs?

Hey all, been seeing some weird chatter around Coterra lately, nothing concrete, but enough to make me a bit uneasy. Feels like there's a general slowdown across a few departments, and budgets seem tighter than usual. Anyone else picking up on this? I'm not talking about outright layoffs here, more like a general sense of caution. Are people being frozen out of certain projects, or are internal transfers becoming more difficult? My team hasn't seen anything direct, but the overall vibe feels... different. Wondering if this is company-wide or just localized to certain areas. Has anyone heard anything more specific through the grapevine? Is it just the usual oil and gas cycles, or is something else going on behind the scenes? Curious to hear what others are experiencing or hearing. Stay safe out there.

I've been hearing similar murmurs. It's subtle, but definitely there. Project scopes seem to be shrinking, and approvals are taking longer. While I haven't seen any specific RIFs, there's a definite 'hunker down' mentality creeping in. It feels like management is getting ready for a potential downturn or is re-evaluating resource allocation across the board. Just trying to stay focused on my deliverables and hope it blows over.

Interesting you bring this up. I haven't heard anything directly about layoffs, but there's definitely a noticeable shift in how resources are being managed. Conversations about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' are becoming more frequent. Some roles that were open a few months ago are no longer being backfilled, and there's a bit more scrutiny on travel and discretionary spending. It's creating a bit of uncertainty, for sure.
