Coterra Energy: Anyone else feel like things are getting tight?

Hey everyone, been with Coterra for a few years now and lately the atmosphere feels... different. Heard some whispers about belt-tightening and projects being re-evaluated. Nothing concrete, but the general vibe in the office is a bit more anxious than usual. Anyone else picking up on this? Wondering if it's just my department or if there's a broader shift happening. My team's been told to be "mindful of spending," which is usually code for "don't expect any new budgets." It's making me a little uneasy, especially with the current market conditions. Just trying to gauge if I should start updating the resume or if this is just typical end-of-year budget talk. Appreciate any insights or similar experiences.

I've noticed a similar trend. It feels like the company is getting more cautious with expenses across the board. We've also had discussions about optimizing resources and being more strategic with any discretionary spending. It's definitely a shift from a few years ago when things felt a bit more open. Hoping it's just a temporary adjustment and not a sign of deeper issues.

Yeah, the "mindful of spending" talk is definitely making the rounds. It’s creating a bit of uncertainty, for sure. I've seen some internal communications that hint at focusing on core operations and efficiency. It’s hard to say if it’s company-wide or just certain divisions feeling the pinch, but the general sentiment is definitely more conservative right now.
