Anyone else notice the sudden silence in Slack/Teams channels?

Is it just me, or has the vibe in the office shifted over the last couple of weeks? I’ve been with CRWD for a few years now, and usually, even when things are busy, there’s a certain level of chatter and energy. Lately, it feels like everyone is walking on eggshells. I noticed a few managers have been in back-to-back ‘private’ meetings that aren't showing up on the shared calendars. Whenever I bring up the current project roadmaps, people seem hesitant to commit to anything Q3 or Q4 related. I know we haven't seen any formal announcements, but the way leadership is dodging direct questions about headcount during the last few All-Hands is definitely making me nervous. Has anyone else been getting those 'we're re-evaluating priorities' emails from their skips? I feel like we’re in that weird pre-layoff limbo where they haven't pulled the trigger yet, but the spreadsheets are already being scrubbed. Just trying to see if I’m reading too much into this or if others are seeing the same patterns.

The mood at CRWD has definitely shifted since the outage fallout. I’ve noticed the exact same thing in our channels—people are strictly sticking to the bare minimum documentation and avoiding any open speculation. Those 'private' meetings you’re seeing are likely standard damage control, but it’s hard not to feel like we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop regarding headcount or shifts in leadership strategy. Honestly, everyone is just keeping their head down until the dust finally settles. It’s draining, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the reluctance to commit to Q3/Q4 roadmaps is just a sign that management is rethinking the entire scope of work.

You aren't imagining things. It’s been incredibly quiet compared to a few months ago. I think most people are just exhausted from the non-stop recovery efforts and the constant pressure from clients, so the silence is probably more about burnout than anything sinister. That said, the lack of calendar transparency is definitely fueling the rumor mill. It’s tough to plan for Q3 when you feel like the company’s priorities are being rewritten behind closed doors. Just keep your head on a swivel and try not to let the office anxiety get to you; most of us are just focusing on our individual tasks and waiting for an official update.
