Rant: Absolutely drained and burnt out, something's gotta give

I'm so freaking tired of the constant pressure. Being on call 24/7 for Falcon Overwatch is seriously taking a toll on my mental health. I feel like I can't even take a vacation without being glued to my phone. The workload has been insane lately, and it feels like management just keeps piling on more without acknowledging the strain. I'm starting to resent this job, which sucks because I used to be really passionate about cybersecurity. I'm putting in the hours, crushing my KPIs, but at what cost? Seriously considering looking for something less demanding, even if it means a pay cut. Anyone else feeling this burnt out?

I hear you. The always-on culture in security is brutal. Have you tried talking to your manager about workload distribution or setting firmer boundaries about on-call availability? Maybe suggest rotating shifts or escalating issues more proactively. Don't let them burn you out, because that benefits nobody.

Crushing KPIs at the expense of your mental health isn't a victory. If management isn't listening, maybe it's time to explore other options. There are plenty of security roles out there. Before you jump ship, document everything: the excess hours, the unrealistic expectations. That way, if you need to escalate to HR, you'll have solid evidence.
