Feeling the culture shift post-restructuring

Has anyone else noticed how the vibe in the office (for those of us still hybrid) has completely cratered since these layoffs started? It’s not even about the workload anymore, which is obviously unsustainable, but the sheer lack of morale. Leadership loves to talk about 'resilience,' but it’s hard to be resilient when you’re looking over your shoulder waiting for the next WARN notice to drop. The rumor mill is working overtime, and honestly, the uncertainty is worse than the layoffs themselves. Is it even worth staying at this point? I’m seeing people with tenure just checking out and doing the bare minimum while they polish their resumes. Curious if anyone has managed to jump ship recently to a competitor or if the whole sector is just bleeding out right now.

It is honestly exhausting. Every town hall meeting feels like a script written by someone who has never stepped foot in our offices. They keep preaching about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but they refuse to acknowledge that the talent they kept is just as burnt out as those who were let go. The constant pivoting and lack of clear direction are making it impossible to stay focused on actual work. At this point, most people are just updating their resumes during lunch and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I hear you completely. The atmosphere has shifted from a professional environment to one of pure survival. When leadership stops valuing transparency, they lose the trust of every single employee left in the building. It is impossible to feel 'resilient' when the company culture is being sacrificed for short-term cost-cutting metrics. The silence from management regarding the future of our teams is deafening. Everyone is just looking for the exit strategy at this point, which says everything you need to know about the current state of morale.
