Is anyone actually surprised by the April 25th cuts?

Just saw the WARN filing for the 50 heads in CA. Honestly, at this point, it feels like we’re just watching a slow-motion car crash. Every quarter there’s some new leadership talking point about 'streamlining' or 'capital allocation,' but nothing ever changes on the ground except for more empty desks and people losing their livelihoods. I know a few folks who got hit in the previous rounds, and it’s just getting depressing to log in every morning. Are we expecting another round mid-year, or is this it for the fiber/tower restructuring? The transparency is nonexistent. Just wanted to see if anyone in the affected departments had a heads up, or if it was another standard calendar invite surprise on a Monday morning.

It feels like this has been the status quo for years now. Leadership keeps using those corporate buzzwords to dress up the same old austerity measures, but the actual operations are just becoming a shell of what they once were. At this stage, I assume the mid-year cuts are a mathematical certainty rather than a possibility. If you’re still waiting for a 'pivot' that saves your position, you're likely setting yourself up for more disappointment. The writing has been on the wall since the fiber strategy started struggling, and it’s honestly just sad to watch the internal culture erode like this.
