Just saw the official filings hit for the Boone, KY location. It’s officially 77 people let go as of October 11th. I know there have been rumors swirling about the broader 3,000 headcount reduction plan, but seeing the WARN notice confirm it for a specific site makes it feel way too real. My inbox has been dead silent all morning, which is usually a bad sign in this environment. Has anyone heard if they are doing this in waves by region or if this is just the start of a massive sweep across the support centers? I’ve been looking for an exit strategy for months, but the job market in healthcare feels like it’s completely frozen right now. It is honestly sickening to watch this unfold in real-time. I worked at the Boone site for years, and the lack of transparency from leadership is just par for the course at this point. I have been tracking these filings across multiple states, and it definitely feels like they are rolling these out in waves to avoid a massive PR disaster all at once. Boone is just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve spoken with folks in corporate who are just as terrified as the site-level employees. At this point, I think everyone needs to be updating their resumes and preparing for the worst, regardless of their department. This company has shifted priorities so drastically that nobody feels safe in their position anymore.
