Hearing whispers about potential cuts - anyone else?

Hey everyone, been with CVS Health for about 4 years now, in a project management role on the IT side. Lately, there's been this weird vibe around the office, lots of hushed conversations and managers suddenly being super cagey about Q3/Q4 roadmaps. My skip-level just gave a really generic 'optimizing resources' answer when I pressed them on a delayed project. I'm starting to get that familiar pre-layoff feeling. Anyone else in similar departments or roles hearing anything concrete? Is it just my team, or is this a broader thing brewing? Just trying to gauge if I should be updating my resume proactively. The market feels a bit shaky out there already, so the thought of being blindsided is not ideal. Let me know if you've got any intel, even if it's just hearsay.

I've definitely felt a similar tension over here in operations, though my role is on the retail side. Seems like every department is getting squeezed right now. Management is tight-lipped about everything, and the 'optimizing resources' line is getting old. I'm not sure if it's widespread cuts or just a strategic shift, but it's unsettling. Trying to stay focused on my tasks and hope for the best, but it's hard not to worry.

Hmm, I'm in a different division, mainly focused on marketing, and things feel pretty stable. We just got our Q4 plans finalized and there was no mention of resource optimization or delays. Could it be specific to certain departments or projects? Sometimes IT projects get put on the back burner for various reasons, not always layoffs. Maybe try connecting with some folks in other areas to see if the vibe is consistent across the board. Don't jump to conclusions just yet.
