Is anyone actually safe or is the churn just starting?

It feels like every week there’s a new headline about CVS slashing headcount. With the recent news about the 3k reduction, I’m honestly just waiting for a calendar invite with a HRBP and a lawyer on the call. The transparency here is non-existent. Leadership keeps talking about 'streamlining operations' and 'efficiency,' but all it translates to is more work for the people who manage to stay while we wait for the next round of cuts. Is anyone in the corporate side of things actually getting clear guidance, or are we all just flying blind? I’m exhausted by the constant pivot toward 'transformation'—it feels like we’ve been transforming for three years and all that’s changed is the amount of stress and the number of empty desks. Trying to figure out if it’s time to jump ship to a smaller player or if the grass isn't actually any greener right now. How is everyone else coping with the constant anxiety?

The constant 'streamlining' talk is just corporate gaslighting at this point. I’ve been through three rounds of cuts in two years, and the anxiety of checking my calendar every Monday morning is completely unsustainable. Nobody has any clear answers, and the workload for those left behind is becoming a nightmare. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re effectively doing the jobs of three people while waiting for the next layoff announcement. The morale here has hit rock bottom, and the silence from the executive team only makes it worse.

It's definitely unsettling, but it seems like this is the new reality for the industry rather than just an isolated CVS issue. The shift toward automation and leaner staffing models was inevitable after the Aetna integration. While the lack of transparency is frustrating, I’ve found that focusing on updating my skills and keeping my network active outside the company is the only way to stay sane right now. If you're waiting for clarity from the top, you're going to be disappointed. Protect yourself first and assume nothing is guaranteed.
