Severance package thoughts for potential CVS layoffs?

Okay, so I haven't seen any official announcements or anything, but there's been a lot of talk on here and elsewhere about potential cuts coming down the pipeline at CVS Health. I've been in my current role in the pharmacy operations division for almost 6 years. If the worst happens, I'm curious about what a typical severance package looks like for a company of this size. Does anyone have experience with past layoffs here, or even at similar large healthcare companies? What kind of notice period should we expect? Is it usually a few weeks pay per year of service, or a lump sum? And what about benefits continuation - COBRA is brutal, so hoping for some employer subsidy. Just trying to prepare myself mentally and financially for the possibility. Any insights would be super helpful.

I've been with CVS for a while, and while I haven't experienced a layoff myself, I've seen friends go through similar situations at large corporations. Typically, you'd expect notice based on tenure, maybe a week or two per year of service, plus some pay in lieu of benefits continuation. Health insurance is usually the big one to negotiate. Don't be afraid to ask for specifics about COBRA subsidies or how long your coverage will last. It's always worth checking your employee handbook for any existing policies too.

Honestly, I wouldn't put too much stock in layoff rumors unless there's an official statement. Companies this size are always restructuring in some way, and 'talk' can create unnecessary anxiety. If it does happen, severance packages are usually pretty standard based on company policy and your role. They'll likely offer the minimum required by law and maybe a little extra to avoid bad PR, but don't expect miracles. Focus on your performance and keeping your resume updated just in case.
