I've been with Danaher for a while now and these 'efficiency drives' are nothing new. They tend to happen periodically, often followed by periods of significant investment in certain areas. It's usually about streamlining operations and focusing resources. While change can be unsettling, it often leads to stronger, more competitive divisions down the line. Keep an eye on the announcements, they usually provide more clarity than the rumor mill.
Definitely picking up on some of that unease. Seems like different parts of the Life Sciences segment are feeling it more than others, depending on market pressures and recent acquisitions. The 'efficiency drive' language is a bit concerning, as it can mean different things to different people. Hoping it translates into more strategic focus rather than just cost-cutting that impacts day-to-day work. Curious to see how it shakes out.
