Corporate headcount cuts hit 79 in NY—anyone seen the internal memo?

Just saw the WARN notice about the 79 people getting cut in New York effective late September. My manager has been acting weird all week, and the silence from the leadership team is honestly deafening. We keep hearing about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but we all know that’s just corporate speak for gutting the staff while expecting the remaining folks to pick up the slack without any extra pay. Has anyone heard if this is just limited to the NY location or if the cuts are going to roll out to the SSC and other hubs next month? The uncertainty is killing the morale here. I’ve started updating my resume on the side because I refuse to be the last one left trying to do the work of three people for the same salary. If you’re impacted, I’m truly sorry—this industry is brutal right now.

The memo dropped late Tuesday, and it’s predictably vague. They’re leaning hard into the 'operational efficiency' narrative, but it’s clear they’re trimming the corporate overhead to offset rising costs elsewhere. I wouldn't hold your breath for more transparency; HR is locked down tight, and management is treating anyone asking questions like they're a liability. Expect more news on regional impacts by the end of the month, though they'll likely keep the specific locations quiet as long as possible to avoid a total morale collapse.

Honestly, I’m not even surprised anymore. It feels like every quarter we’re bracing for another round of 'streamlining' while the workload just keeps piling up on the people who actually stay. It’s a classic move—cut the headcount to make the spreadsheets look better for the shareholders while the rest of us just get burned out trying to cover the gaps. If you’re in an office outside of NY, start updating your resume now. These things rarely stop with just one location once they start the process.
