Anyone else getting weird vibes after the last town hall?

Is it just me, or did the tone at the last all-hands feel incredibly forced? Usually, leadership is all about the 'growth mindset' and G7/G8 rollout, but everything felt buttoned up this time. I’ve been hearing whispers from friends in middle management about 'budget tightening' and 'efficiency audits' starting Q3. We’ve had a solid run, but with the competitive landscape heating up and the new CGM entrants starting to chip away at the market share, I’m getting nervous. I haven't seen any official HR memos about RIFs yet, but my inbox has been unusually quiet regarding hiring approvals for my department. I’m starting to scrub my resume and update my LinkedIn just in case. Has anyone heard anything concrete, or is this just standard end-of-quarter anxiety? I’ve seen some positions that were open last month suddenly vanish from the careers page. Probably time to start networking externally just to be safe.

I wouldn't overthink it, but the rumors about Q3 audits are definitely making the rounds. Every time we hear buzzwords about 'efficiency,' it usually translates to a hiring freeze or a restructuring of the project teams. It’s hard to stay optimistic when leadership dodges questions about market share attrition during the Q&A sessions. Honestly, it feels like they’re bracing for a bumpy landing, and it’s creating a lot of unnecessary tension across the departments.

Everyone is talking about that town hall today. It definitely lacked the usual energy, and the evasiveness regarding the upcoming audit was loud. I’ve been through these cycles before, and whenever management starts acting this rehearsed, it’s usually a precursor to downsizing. Given the pressure from new entrants in the CGM space, they’re clearly in panic mode behind closed doors. Keep your resume polished and watch for the next round of announcements; things feel like they are about to shift significantly.
