Diamondback Energy - Anyone else feeling the squeeze?

Hey all, been at DBX for a few years now and something feels different lately. We're seeing some pretty tight budget controls coming down, especially on travel and some of the 'nice-to-haves' in terms of software/tools. My manager is being super vague about it, just saying 'optimizing resources'. It's not a full hiring freeze, but it feels like things are slowing down. Anyone else in other departments noticing this? Trying to gauge if this is company-wide or just my specific team/area. Wondering if this is a sign of things to come or just standard end-of-year prudence. Appreciate any insights.

Yeah, I've noticed some similar rumblings in my department too. It’s not a full lockdown by any means, but there’s definitely a sharper eye on expenses. Used to be approvals for new software or conference trips were pretty standard, but now it feels like you need to justify every single dollar. My boss is also being pretty tight-lipped, which just adds to the uncertainty. Makes you wonder what's brewing behind the scenes, doesn't it?
