Any word on Discover's Q4 outlook and its impact on headcount?

Hey everyone, seeing a lot of noise online about potential cuts across the financial sector, and some of it mentions Discover directly or indirectly through other companies. Haven't seen any official announcements or anything concrete internally, but the general unease is palpable. Anyone in areas like IT, risk, or operations hearing anything more specific about the upcoming quarter's financial projections and how that might translate to headcount adjustments? Feels like we're in a holding pattern, and frankly, the uncertainty is a bit stressful. Just looking for some honest takes from folks who might have a better pulse on things than I do. Is it just industry-wide jitters, or is there something more specific brewing at Discover?

I'm in a similar boat, not hearing anything official but definitely feeling the jitters. My department's been pretty tight-lipped about the Q4 outlook. We've had some hiring freezes in place for a bit, which usually isn't a great sign. Hoping it's just standard caution, but the industry-wide chatter is hard to ignore. Would be good to get some clarity on the projections soon.

Haven't heard anything concrete on headcount, but the Q4 focus seems to be on efficiency and managing costs. There's been a lot of talk about streamlining processes and investing in technology to automate certain tasks. While not explicitly about cuts, it does make you wonder if those efficiencies might eventually impact staffing levels in some areas. Let's hope for the best.
