Hey everyone, been lurking here for a bit and wanted to get a pulse on things at Discover. I've been keeping an eye on openings for my team (tech side) for a few months now, and it feels like it's completely dried up. We used to have a steady stream of requisitions, but lately, it's been absolute crickets. I've seen a couple of roles posted, but they seem to linger for ages and then disappear without explanation. Is this just a seasonal thing, or are other departments seeing the same slowdown? I've heard whispers, but nothing concrete. Wondering if this is a precursor to something bigger, or if we're just in a general hiring freeze like some other companies are reportedly doing. Anyone else in a similar boat or hearing anything through the grapevine?

Yeah, I've definitely noticed a significant slowdown on the hiring front, at least from what I can see in my area. The usual churn of new roles just isn't there, and it's making me wonder what the broader strategy is. It's a bit concerning when you're used to seeing consistent activity and then suddenly it grinds to a halt. Hoping it's just a temporary dip and not indicative of something more permanent.

I can confirm the feeling of things slowing down on the hiring side. It's not just your department; we've been experiencing a similar lack of new openings for a while now. The few that do pop up seem to be for very specific, sometimes niche, roles that get filled quickly or vanish just as fast. It's creating a bit of uncertainty about future growth and opportunities within the company.
