Feeling the pressure in Engineering - rumors of a Q3 push?

Seeing a lot of talk on the internal channels about our performance metrics being scrutinized more heavily than usual. I’ve been with the team for three years and I’ve never seen this level of micro-management regarding sprint velocity. People are nervous. We’ve had a few folks from the product side suddenly go dark on Slack, and their status just switched to 'deactivated' without any heads-up from their leads. The lack of transparency is honestly the worst part. If they are planning a structural pivot or a headcount reduction, I wish they’d just rip the band-aid off so we can stop spending eight hours a day refreshing LinkedIn and worrying about whether we're next. Is anyone else seeing these sudden departures in their departments, or is it just my org?

The shift in the engineering culture lately is palpable. I've noticed the same trend with the sudden departures; it’s unsettling to see teammates disappear from Slack without a word. When management stops being transparent about performance metrics and starts focusing purely on aggressive sprint velocity, it kills morale. It feels like we are being set up for a massive restructuring before the quarter closes. Just keep your head down and update your resume, because the current environment is becoming unsustainable for anyone who values stability.

Honestly, the vibe at DocuSign has been off for months. Ever since the talk about Q3 targets intensified, the micromanagement has reached an all-time high. It is incredibly demoralizing to have leadership breathing down our necks about every single ticket while watching our product peers vanish overnight. It is hard to stay focused on shipping features when you’re constantly wondering if you’re next on the chopping block. If they are actually planning a major structural change, they are handling the communication in the most toxic way possible.
