Feeling uneasy about the Q3 guidance

The sentiment internally has shifted so much lately. We had those town halls promising 'growth' and 'stabilization,' but then you look at the hiring freeze that never really ended and the lack of backfilling for people who have left voluntarily, and it’s hard not to connect the dots. The attrition feels deliberate at this point. I’ve been tightening up my portfolio and updating my resume just in case, but it’s exhausting trying to balance actual work with this lingering anxiety that the floor is about to drop out. Management keeps talking about 'operational efficiency,' which we all know is just code for cutting headcount to appease shareholders before the next earnings call. If they do decide to pull the trigger again, I really hope they handle it with more transparency than last time. Being ghosted by your own company is a special kind of hell. Anyone else feel like they’re just waiting for the other shoe to drop?

I totally get that feeling. It’s the classic corporate playbook: keep telling everyone things are looking up while quietly strangling the headcount. When you see the constant 'strategic realignments' coupled with a silent hiring freeze, it’s usually a massive red flag. Don't feel guilty about job hunting; you have to look out for yourself because the leadership clearly isn't prioritizing the people still grinding there. Update the resume and start discreetly looking—it’s better to have an exit strategy ready than to wait for the inevitable next round of cuts.
