Severance Package - what to expect?

Hypothetically speaking... if DocuSign *were* to have layoffs, what kind of severance package do they usually offer? I've heard rumors of 2 weeks per year of service, plus unused vacation time. Is that accurate? Are there any other benefits included, like continued health insurance or outplacement services? Just trying to get a sense of what to expect if the worst happens. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I went through a layoff at a similar tech company a few years ago. The two weeks per year of service sounds about right for the base severance. Definitely negotiate! They often have some wiggle room, especially if you've been a strong performer. Also, push for extended health insurance (COBRA subsidy is common) and see if they offer any outplacement services to help with your job search. Good luck, hope you don't need it!

Don't get your hopes up too high based on rumors. Severance packages can vary wildly depending on a lot of factors, including your role, level, and overall tenure. Two weeks per year is on the generous side, honestly. Read your offer letter carefully, and if you're impacted, consult with an employment lawyer. It's worth the investment to understand your rights and options. Also, start updating your resume *now*. Just in case.
