Anyone else feeling the pressure at DG?

Been working at Dollar General for a few years now, and lately, the vibe has been... off. We're constantly being pushed to do more with less, and the chatter about needing to 'optimize' staffing levels has been getting louder. Seeing that recent WARN notice out of Oklahoma just adds to the anxiety. It's hard not to connect the dots. Are others experiencing this? Are managers giving vague answers when asked about job security, or is it just my store? I'm trying to stay positive, but it's getting harder to ignore the signs. Feels like we're all just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Trying to get a sense of the broader picture across the company, not just what corporate might be spinning.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed the same kind of undercurrent at my location. It feels like we're always on the brink of something, whether it's new initiatives or staff changes. The constant talk of efficiency and 'right-sizing' the workforce definitely creates a cloud of uncertainty. It's tough to focus on the day-to-day when you're worried about what the next announcement might bring. Hoping for some clarity soon, but it's hard not to feel the pressure building.

Completely understand where you're coming from. The push for more productivity with fewer resources is palpable. My store has been dealing with similar 'optimization' discussions, and the lack of clear communication from upper management is really unsettling. It makes you question your footing, for sure. I've heard a lot of 'we're always looking for ways to improve' type answers when asking about job security, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Fingers crossed things stabilize soon for all of us.
