DG - Morale seems really low, anyone know why?

Walking through our DG lately, the atmosphere is just... off. People seem really quiet, stressed, and just generally unenthusiastic. Even the managers look pretty worn out. I haven't heard any specific news about layoffs or anything concrete, but the general feeling is that something's up. Maybe it's just the general retail grind, but it feels more pronounced than usual. Are there whispers of something bigger going on behind the scenes? Any managers or long-term employees who can shed some light on what might be causing this dip in morale? Trying to figure out if it's worth sticking around or if I should start looking elsewhere.

I've noticed it too, especially over the last few months. It feels like there's a lot more pressure to hit sales targets, and the staff is stretched pretty thin. Inventory issues and constant changes in policy probably don't help morale. Plus, with the cost of living going up, I imagine wages aren't cutting it for a lot of people, leading to that stressed-out vibe. It's tough out there for retail workers right now, and DG is no exception.

Could be a combination of things. Increased corporate oversight, maybe some new metrics or expectations being pushed down that are unrealistic? Sometimes when morale dips, it's because employees feel unheard or undervalued. If management is feeling the strain, it trickles down. Keep an eye on internal communications and see if any patterns emerge. Hope things get better for everyone working there.
