Been with DG for a few years now, and lately, the vibe in our store and the whispers I hear from other districts feel… off. Management is cagey, schedules are getting tighter, and there's this constant talk about 'efficiency' that sounds like a euphemism for cutting costs. We haven't had any official announcements, but the underlying tension is palpable. It feels like we're bracing for something, and honestly, a lot of us are worried about our jobs. I've been hearing similar things in my area. It's the 'quiet cuts' that worry me the most - less stock being ordered, fewer hours for part-time staff, and a general sense of things being stretched thin. The 'efficiency' talk is definitely a buzzword that's been making rounds. It's hard not to feel anxious when you see these subtle shifts happening, especially with the holidays approaching. Totally feel this. The increased pressure to hit metrics while simultaneously seeing resources dwindle is a classic sign of something brewing. I've noticed fewer training opportunities and a push for everyone to do more with less. It creates a stressful environment. The lack of direct communication from corporate only amplifies the uncertainty. It's a tough time to be questioning job security, but it's good to know others are noticing the same trends.
