Store closing rumors at DG - what's the real deal?

Been hearing whispers from a few different store managers in my district about potential store closures coming up. Nothing official, of course, just 'strong suggestions' that some locations might not make it past the next fiscal quarter. It's making everyone nervous. Are these just isolated incidents, or is anyone else hearing similar things? My store is doing okay, but I'm starting to worry about job security, even at the store level. It's hard to get a straight answer from corporate, they just give the usual 'we're always evaluating our store portfolio' line. But this feels different, more specific. Anyone got any concrete info or insights from their end? Trying to gauge how serious this might be.

Yeah, I've been hearing similar rumblings. It seems like there's been a lot of talk about re-evaluating underperforming stores lately. It's definitely unsettling, especially when you're on the ground and see how hard everyone works. Corporate communications are always a bit vague, aren't they? Makes it tough to know what's actually going on, just adds to the anxiety. Hoping for some clarity soon.

Funny you mention that. My location just had a district manager visit and the conversation definitely had a 'performance review' vibe. They weren't outright saying closures, but the implication was clear that certain metrics need to improve drastically. It's a tough market out there, and I guess not every store can be a winner. Just gotta keep pushing and hope for the best.
