Dollar Tree: Anyone else feeling the pinch at corporate?

Hey everyone, been with Dollar Tree corporate for a couple of years now in [department, e.g., Merchandising]. Honestly, the last few months have felt... different. We're seeing more eyes on budgets, projects getting put on hold, and a general sense of 'belt-tightening' that feels more intense than usual. Just had a team meeting where the VP was talking about 'optimizing resources' and 'strategic focus' a lot. It's not outright layoffs, but the energy is definitely shifting. Anyone else in a similar boat or hearing anything through the grapevine? Curious if this is a company-wide thing or just my department feeling the pressure.

I've been hearing similar whispers from friends who work in corporate roles at other retail giants. It seems like a lot of companies are tightening their belts right now, even if it's not directly tied to store-level performance. 'Optimizing resources' can mean a lot of things, and it's understandable that it creates some unease. Hopefully, it's a temporary phase and things will stabilize soon for your department.

That sounds pretty stressful. I work in one of the stores, and while I haven't seen any direct impacts from the corporate side, I can definitely feel the increased focus on efficiency. Sometimes it feels like we're being asked to do more with less even at the store level. It's good you're bringing this up – it helps those of us on the front lines understand the bigger picture a bit better.
